My Journey of Micro-dosing Magic Mushrooms

Thank you for joining me on my micro-dosing magic mushrooms journey. My goal is to help others along their journey; however, that may look. I want to create a central location where people can find helpful information, useful resources, and articles about micro-dosing. My goal is to empower individuals and help them find their voice, just as I found mine.

Feelings

Where have all of the good feelings gone? Anger, resentment, lack of patience, and understanding have now taken residence where there was once peace, love, and joy. I sought help from Western medicine and found myself having a bad side effect of feeling like my soul was shredding. The doctors wanted me to try another medicine; however, I read about even worse side effects with the new medicine.

I had heard good things about micro-dosing magic mushrooms. I even read several articles on it that made it seem like it could be a good candidate for me to try. I decided I could either try another medicine that would take time to build up in my system, and possibly have worse side effects than my soul shredding, or I could try what Mother Nature has provided in the form of psilocybin.

I decided to try Mother Nature’s medicine and I am so thankful I did. I feel like myself again before the stress of life piled up and truly believe it has helped me become a better person, a better wife, a better mother, and a better friend.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is micro-dosing?

Microdosing usually refers to the practice of taking tiny portions of psychedelic substances. It’s important to note, however, that many substances can be used this way. A microdose is typically 1/10 to 1/20 of a normal dose, or 10 to 20 micrograms.

Why would someone micro-dose?

The goal of micro-dosing is to achieve the positive results of the substance (more focus, energy, and emotional balance) without the negative (hallucinations, sensory shifts, and other extreme experiential side effects).

How soon can I tell a difference?

Each person is different but I saw a difference at two weeks and a total transformation by week four. Others have reported a difference on the first day.

What are some benefits of microdosing?

These seem to be the number one reported benefits of micro-dosing magic mushrooms: better focus, more energy, higher levels of creativity, heightened spiritual awareness, help quitting substances, and relief from depression, anxiety, and menstrual cramps.

Are all micro-doses equal?

No. Depending on the strain of psilocybin used, and the tolerance level of the person taking the micro-dose, it can affect each person differently.

Do you micro-dose every day?

Risks

It’s essential to understand that there are potential risks and negative health effects associated with micro-dosing magic mushrooms. The following are risks I have learned about on my journey:

Even at low doses, psilocybin can affect mood and perception, leading to hallucinations, anxiety, paranoia, or panic attacks in some individuals. It has been reported in various chat rooms that some people who micro-dose feel great using one strain of psilocybin like Golden Teacher, while they are very anxious and paranoid using the same amount of a higher potent strain like A+.

Psilocybin can interact with certain medications, such as antidepressants and other psychiatric drugs, potentially leading to adverse reactions. Through my research of speaking with other people who have micro-dosed while taking antidepressants and other psychiatric drugs, they report that they have to take a much smaller amount than 0.20 grams while they are on antidepressants and other psychiatric drugs to feel fine. The common consensus has been that antidepressants and other psychiatric drugs increase the effect of psilocybin and prescription medication. It is always recommended to work with your healthcare provider if you want to stop your prescription medication. Never stop cold turkey without being given the OK from your healthcare provider.

While psilocybin itself is not considered addictive like some other substances, there is still a risk of developing a psychological dependence or habit around its use. I can say that you may be tempted to use it during your “off day” because of the tremendous benefits it provides; however, it is essential to stick to a protocol and have a day off. Psilocybin can stay in the system for up to 72 hours and it does build up. To keep the good feelings and healing going, days off are essential.

Psilocybin is a controlled substance in many places, and using it even in small amounts may have legal consequences. To my knowledge, psilocybin drug testing is very expensive and is not on a standard panel. While there is hope for legal changes in the future, please be aware of the laws and potential consequences surrounding this substance where you reside.

Each person may react differently to psilocybin, and what works for one individual may not necessarily be safe or effective for another. Always go low dose and slow when starting to micro-dose. I recommend starting with 0.05 grams of a mild strain and raising 0.05 grams every two (2) days until you reach 0.20 grams. If at any time you feel negative effects like anxiety, go back to the dose where this did not happen.

The long-term effects of micro-dosing magic mushrooms are not well understood, and more research is needed to fully assess its safety and efficacy. In my research, I have only found one article relating to the long-term issue of micro-dosing which stated there was a possibility of it causing a heart issue but more research was needed.
