Micro-Dosing Magic Mushrooms: Effective Protocols for Success

Micro-dosing protocols refer to established guidelines and procedures for the safe and effective use of magic mushrooms. These protocols encompass various aspects, including dosage, frequency of use, administration methods, and monitoring practices.

There are six different micro-dosing protocols but we will only talk about the main three micro-dosing protocols. All of them schedule two to four weeks of rest after a completed micro-dosing cycle of four to eight weeks. This break, or reset, is vital to avoid tolerance and thus maintain the healing effects of micro-dosing magic mushrooms.

Dosage:

One critical aspect of micro-dosing protocols is determining the appropriate dosage for micro-dosing. This typically involves taking sub-perceptual amounts of psilocybin, usually ranging from 0.1 grams to 0.5 grams of dried mushrooms. However, individual tolerance and sensitivity levels may vary, so starting with a lower dose and gradually increasing as needed is advisable.

Fadiman Micro-dosing Protocol:

The Fadiman Protocol (also known as the Beginners Protocol) is the most well-known micro-dosing protocol. It’s named after Dr. James Fadiman, who created this protocol to observe the effects of mirco-dosing by clearly distinguishing between micro-dosing days and non-micro-dosing days.

Dr. James Fadiman’s protocol is an excellent basis for a first micro-dosing experiment. It assumes a 3-day cycle of taking one micro-dose on day one, and then NO dose on days two and three.

Microdosing Institute Protocol (every second day):

Some people benefit more from micro-dosing every second day. This can increase the effectiveness of micro-dosing especially when micro-dosing for medical purposes or psychological challenges such as depression, social anxiety, ADHD/ADD, migraine, or cluster headaches. It assumes a 2-day cycle of taking one micro-dose on day one, and then NO dose on day two.

Stamet’s Micro-dosing Protocol:

Paul Stamets, a world-renowned mycologist, author, and advocate for medicinal mushrooms, developed and tested a new micro-dosing formula; the combination of psilocybin, niacin (vitamin B3), and the medicinal mushroom Lion’s Mane. This micro-dosing stacking method has a positive and lasting effect on the brain.

He invented the term “stacking” to describe the process of combining these substances. The ‘Paul Stamets Stack‘ is mainly developed to combine Lion’s Mane, psilocybin, and niacin (vitamin B3). The Stamen’s Protocol assumes a 7-day cycle of taking one micro-dose on days one through three, and then NO dose on days four through seven.

Administration methods:

Micro-dosing protocols recommend dosing once a day on your “on” day, in the morning, as it can have a stimulant effect. Check out the Consuming Magic Mushrooms page on different methods of consuming magic mushrooms.

Monitoring:

Regular monitoring and self-reflection are crucial components of micro-dosing protocols. This involves paying close attention to any changes in mood, cognition, and overall well-being, as well as tracking any potential side effects or adverse reactions. Keeping a journal or log of micro-dosing sessions can help individuals assess the effectiveness of their protocol and make any necessary adjustments. Check out the Affirmations page to help you get started on your journey.

Conclusion on Micro-dosing Protocols:

Overall, micro-dosing protocols aim to provide individuals with a structured framework for safe and responsible micro-dosing practices. By following these guidelines and adapting them to individual needs and preferences, individuals can maximize the potential benefits of micro-dosing magic mushrooms while minimizing the risks. It’s also important to note that consulting with a healthcare professional or experienced guide can provide valuable insights and support throughout the micro-dosing journey.
